On the writing

Yes, the writing on this site is assisted by Claude (Anthropic's AI). I use it as a writing partner — I bring the ideas, the opinions, and the decisions. Claude helps me get them out of my head and onto the page without the spelling mistakes, confusing grammatical errors, and typos that would otherwise be my signature style.

I wouldn't call it AI slop. I actually care — maybe more than a tiny bit — and I curate, edit, and rewrite as much as I can. If something reads well, that's the collaboration working. If something reads like a robot wrote it, that's me not doing my job.

I figure transparency is better than pretending. You deserve to know how the sausage is made, especially from someone who literally documents how things are made.

On the projects

The builds are real. The decisions are mine. The solder joints are questionable. Claude doesn't hold a soldering iron — it helps me write about what happened after I put one down.

The site itself

Built with Astro, hosted on AWS (S3 + CloudFront), and deployed with a Makefile because sometimes simple is better. The infrastructure was also built with Claude's help, because writing shell scripts is the other thing I need a proofreader for.
